Nikon D80 w/ Sigma 70-200mm in action

I just got myself a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8, so I went out and tested it on my Nikon D80. This photo is taken with my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens on my brothers Nikon D40. Made explore, #243!

  I have the Sigma myself and I must say it's great with what you get for the price. (I'm checking out the D90 w/ battery grip for a size comparison at the moment so I stumbled across your photo when looking up the combo. Cool nature shots!)

  Thanks man! I'll post some shots of my gear, so you'll be able to actually see the D80 with the grip. But you've probably already found some good photos of it somewhere on the Internet.

  That lens is DISGUSTING :| and from where i live disgusting means good...really really good. i want it :] but it costs so much more in a pentax K-mount *sigh*

  Yeh I was gonna buy the nikon 70-200 lens, but for the price and weight it didn't seem worth it. So instead I bought the 70-300. I mean it's not the best...but for like $700 it works well. I was never into generic lenses but this one seems pretty nice. So does it work well? and how much did you buy it for? Looks really professional by the way

  I'm actually thinking of selling it. Not because it's not great, because the lens is great, but it's a bit heavy and a little too big for my taste. I got it for €599.

  Oh you live in Europe? That's tight but in the U.S. our stuff cost less...idk why...yeh i know that was my reason for not buying one instead of buying it i put the rest of my money into buying an SB-900 and lightsphere diffuser so im out of money now...but what lens do you plan on getting?

  Yeah, I live in Holland. I'm thinking of getting the Tokina 12-24mm. What's your experience with the SB-900? I've got the SB-800 myself and I love it!

  Well i'm not very good with it yet its really bulky and heavy but i love the range to 200mm.....it out shines the sb- 800 but i really like how compact it is...i wouldn't advise upgrading cause i say its not worth the extra cash but yeh i think they are more in Europe......oh man everything is legal in holland? huh (: i wish i lived their but LA is a fun place to live...you ever been over here??? how do you send personal messages or anything on here

  I'd love to have an SB-900, but I already have the SB-800 and like you said it's not worth the extra cash. Actually it probably is, but the difference in price between them is just to big. At least here in Holland it is... I haven't been to the US yet, but I'll be going to NYC in June. At the top of this page, there's an enveloppe. You can send a 'Flickr mail' when you go to that page.

  How do you find the focussing speed of the Sigma on the D80?

  Well, I don't own it anymore, but... I do remember that it was really fast on my D80. It's also incredibly silent.
